BIOGRAPHY

Leo was born to a family of scientists. Their father, Niklas Kliesen, is a world-renowned archeologist with a passion for martial arts, while Leo's mother, Emma Kliesen, was one of the brightest minds in the field of genetic research.

Even though their father was absent from the early years, it didn't stop Leo from inheriting his love for spelunking and the art of fighting. Raised by the kind and compassionate Emma, Leo grew up to be a remarkable fighter with a strong sense of justice and a heart of gold.

But it wouldn't take long before that heart would be stained by tragedy. One day, Leo's mother was dead under mysterious circumstances. Filled with rage, they set out to find the truth. After discovering the connections to G Corporation, and Kazuya Mishima, everything started to make sense.

Reunited with their father after so long, Leo sets out to make things right.

Personality

Leo could be described to be mature beyond their age, or at least they try to be. Their strong sense of justice and responsibility tends to create an image of a serious fighter who marches towards their goal with unwavering resolve. And yet, youth is youth. Leo's lack of experience shows itself when they are confronted with something new or unusual, which immediately break the facade of the stoic fighter.

Gameplay

Leo is a unique but very well-rounded fighter. Their extensive toolkit allows for flexibility in play style. This comes with the typical drawbacks of being a jack of all trades. Sure, they might have an answer for almost every situation, but none of those options tend to be as strong as they would be on a more specialized character. Despite that, Leo tends to be a safe and reliable pick. Outside of being prone to sidestep, they will give you any opportunity to not just win, but to be competitive too.

Fighting Style

Leo represents Baji Quan. This Chinese martial art is characterized by its focus on a lot of linear movement and quick, powerful strikes. Practitioners of Baji Quan tend to adopt a wide stance and showcase efficient motion that transfers a lot of their body weight and momentum into devastating blows. In video games this tends to mean that Baji Quan characters have shorter range than their peers, but compensate for it with damage and speed.
