The Capcom Pro Tour 2024 circuit was concluded over the weekend with the end of Capcom Cup 11. IBSG|Kakeru was crowned the winner and took home $1,000,000 as the grand prize, which probably represented over half the total prize pool for the entire circuit.

Based on the wording we heard at Capcom Cup X, we were led to believe that future Capcom Cup events beyond Capcom Cup 11 wouldn't feature a $1,000,000 grand prize (it was never stated outright, but very heavily implied). Regardless, Capcom Cup 11 featured overall smaller payouts compared to Capcom Cup X, aside from the first place finisher.
As an example, Yesports|Chris Wong, who finished at second place at Capcom Cup X, received $300,000 for his performance. Earlier this year at Capcom Cup 11, 2G|Blaz earned $100,000 for coming in second place, which was still an impressive payday.
It was believed that Capcom would, understandably, be reducing the prize pool for the Capcom Pro Tour 2025 circuit. However, new information released by Capcom now seems to suggest otherwise.
Over on the official Capcom Pro Tour website, it's stated that the Capcom Pro Tour 2025 season will feature a prize pool of "over $2,000,000," which is either equal to or more than the Capcom Pro Tour 2023 prize pool.
"Join the world's greatest Street Fighter 6 players as they battle for a spot at Capcom Cup 12," as outlined on the website. "Capcom Cup 12 will be returning to Japan for another year!"
"Capcom Pro Tour 2025 will have a prize pool of over $2 million!"
It's also been indicated that Capcom Cup 12 will see 48 players competing in the grand finale. These players will consist of 14 from Capcom Pro Tour 2025 Premier events (eight tournament winners followed by the six players with the highest Premier Points), 20 World Warrior players, eight World Warrior super region winners, the winner of Capcom Cup 11 (reserved for Kakeru), the winning team from Street Fighter League 2024 (RB|Gachikun, HB|Kawano, G8S|Pugera, and YHC-Mochi), and the winner of Esports World Cup 2025.
The super regions have been revealed to be United Kingdom & Ireland, Japan, Asia, and Asia East.
We recently learned about the partnership between the Capcom Pro Tour circuit and the Esports World Cup. It turns out that Esports World Cup will somehow be incorporated to the Capcom Pro Tour seasons ranging from 2025 through 2027.
As of right now, it's unknown if the Capcom Cup 12 winner will receive a $1,000,000 grand prize like with previous years, but it's looking extremely likely at this point.
