Vegeta is the prince of Saiyans, and he keeps the pride of his origin long after his race was almost entirely exterminated. First, this guy was just aggressive and selfish. He wanted to conquer worlds and prosper from murders and destruction. But then his ways changed. Vegeta became one of the Earth defenders, a true hero. But his arrogance is here to remain.

Such an attitude towards other people is a kind of double-edged sword. Vegeta is very strong, but he so often underestimates his opponents and therefore loses battles. But also, placing himself above everyone else pushes the guy to meet this high standard. Vegeta puts a lot of effort into self-development to be the best version of himself — mainly from the fighting power point of view.

One rival makes Vegeta strive for perfection with special intensity. It’s Goku who continually trains to fight new even more powerful foes. Once, Goku had a fight with Beerus, God of Destruction, and managed to achieve the superior form of Super Saiyan Blue. Vegeta certainly couldn’t allow Goku (whom he calls Kakarot) to make this leap and become stronger than the prince of Saiyans. So, he decided to train with Whis, the attendant of Beerus. As a result, he also reached an absolutely impressive level of power. Both Vegeta and Goku can transform into Super Saiyan God Super Saiyans (SSGSS).

Most of the time, Vegeta remains in his basic form. Only during especially tough battles, he decides to transform and demonstrate to those impudent opponents who is the best fighter here. For example, that happened during a battle against Frieza, when the villain decided to take his Golden form. Vegeta considered the chance to defeat Frieza an honor, so he pushed Goku aside and became Super Saiyan Blue.

Some other dangerous moments trigger the SSGSS transformation, and if you are interested in them, the anime will provide you with many exciting episodes. In the game Dragon Ball FighterZ, Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta is just another character. He is powerful but not broken, so you better make sure he corresponds to your personal fighting style.

Vegeta (SSGSS) in the story of Dragon Ball FighterZ

Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta is nicely hidden in the story mode. In his basic form, the character is present in cutscenes — Vegeta is one of the main guys who fight clones and evil Android 21, but his role is not crucial for the story. As Super Saiyan, Vegeta participates in fights, and by default, the players don’t have another option for this character.

If you decide to stick to him and manage to develop him to Level 40, Super Saiyan Blue will become your fighting form of Vegeta, but you will not be able to return to Super Saiyan.

How to unlock Vegeta (SSGSS) in Dragon Ball FighterZ

To get Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta into your roster, you might use one of these two methods:

  • earn 300,000 zeni in any game mode (you can spend that money, this doesn’t affect the process)

  • Complete the Arcade mode Extreme Gravity Spaceship Course on Hard and get the Rank A

Playstyle of Vegeta (SSGSS) in DBFZ

The offensive options of this character are absolutely devastating. Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta is great at pressuring the opponent and using even slight openings to start his long and effective combos. His ki blasts are scary. His Super Moves are almost like killing tools. And still, Vegeta (SSGSS) has downsides. His defense is not good at all, so only by active attacks, Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta can stay safe in fights. Also, his neutrals have short range, and for zoning, players should use special moves and ki blasts.
